In addition to being the photographer and taking the photos, I also believe it's very important that you do some research beforehand! You can actually HELP ME make the shoot even more about YOU. This can be done by reading these clothing tips, but also by looking around on Pinterest to find photos that inspire you!

Here are a few tips regarding clothing for the shoots:

Avoid Bold Patterns

Clothing with busy patterns or bright colors can distract from the subject of the photo. It's often better to choose simple, solid colors to focus attention on the main subject. I personally love soft colors!

Choose Neutral Colors

Neutral colors such as off-white, brown, terracotta, pastel, beige, etc., are timeless and work well in almost any shoot I photograph. They don’t distract and often combine beautifully with various backgrounds.

Contrast with the Background

If you have a specific background, choose clothing that contrasts with it. This will make the subject stand out and prevent it from blending into the environment.Example: A forest is usually dark and green, so don't go for dark or green clothing; instead, choose lighter colors like beige, brown, or off-white.

Comfortable and Confident

Make sure the clothing you choose fits well and feels like you! I think it's really important that you look like yourself in the photo.

Be Careful with Logos and Text

Avoid clothing with prominent logos or text, unless it's a specific part of the photoshoot. Logos can be distracting, and text can sometimes look messy in photos.

Layers are Fun!

Layers can add depth and interest to your outfit. Consider adding a jacket, scarf, or sweater to give your look a unique touch!

Accessories for Personal Photos

Consider using accessories such as hats, books, a picnic blanket, or jewelry to add personality to the photo. This can help tell a story and give the photo more character!

Group Photos

For group photos, it’s a good idea to coordinate clothing tones between the group members. This doesn’t mean everyone has to wear the same thing, but you could agree on one color to feature together!

Depending on the Goal

What is the goal of the photos? For business portraits, formal clothing might be appropriate, while for creative portraits, more unique outfits could make a fun statement!

Remember, these tips depend on the type of photoshoot. Think about and explore which clothing best fits the mood you want to create.
